John Charles WILLARD - Theft, Assault Police Officer

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment has charged a 28-year-old male after police investigated an incident at a Church Street West, Delhi, Norfolk County, Ontario address.



On Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at approximately 4:36 a.m., police were called to the Pioneer Gas Bar after receiving a complaint about shoplifting.



Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that a male removed merchandise from the store and then fled in an unknown direction. Officers patrolling the area located the male and took him into custody without incident.



As a result of investigation, police have charged 28-year-old John Charles WILLARD of Norfolk County, Ontario with theft under $5,000, two (2) counts of assault a peace officer, personation with intent and fail to comply with probation order.



He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Simcoe at a later date.
