(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment has charged a 39-year-old male with impaired driving following a traffic complaint investigation at a Kohler Road, Cayuga, Haldimand County, Ontario address.
On Saturday July 14, 2018 at 9:51 p.m., OPP responded to a traffic complaint after a citizen reported concerning driving behaviour of a vehicle travelling on Haldimand Road 17 in Cayuga.
Officers located and stopped the vehicle on Kohler Road where they investigated.
While speaking with the male driver, signs of impairment were detected and the driver was subsequently arrested.
OPP has charged 39-year-old Karl GROTKE of Hamilton, Ontario with:
Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
Driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood
Driving a motor vehicle with open container of liquor
His driver's licence was automatically suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded.
He is to appear in Provincial Court Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charges.
