(THUNDER BAY, ON) - On July 15, 2018, at approximately 7:48pm, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Neebing Fire Rescue and Superior North Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responded to a single vehicle collision that occurred on Cloud Lake Road in the Municipality of Neebing.
When officers arrived on scene, they observed a pick-up truck in the east bound ditch that had rolled over onto its driver's side. The driver had to be extricated from the vehicle. The driver was transported to hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
While speaking with the driver, officers determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol.
Chris SOPOTIUCK, 30 years of age, from Neebing, was arrested and charged with, Operate a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code,
He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on August 31, 2018 to answer to the charge.
