Fatal Collision Update - Names Of Deceased Released

(BANCROFT, ON) - In the early morning at approximately 5:30am on July 15, 2018, officers of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a personal injury motor vehicle collision involving two individuals on Gilbert Bay Lane in Wollaston Township.
Officers alongside North Hastings Emergency Medical Services, and Wollaston Fire Services attended the scene and located the driver and a passenger of a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) without vital signs.
An OPP Technical Collision Investigation member attended the scene to assist with the investigation and determine the cause of the collision.
Jennifer BARNAI, 37 years of Hamilton Ontario and Carissa DREHMER, 34 years of Haldimand Ontario were confirmed deceased at the scene.
Autopsies are being completed on Monday July 16, 2018 to determine the cause of deaths.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
