(CHATHAM, ON) On July 16, 2018, around 4:45 p.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 401 near Kent Bridge Road. The complainant advised a westbound motor vehicle was speeding and following other vehicles too closely.

The motor vehicle was located and while speaking with the driver, the officer determined the driver had consumed alcohol. The driver was transported to detachment for further tests.

Upon further investigation, the male driver, Mark RTICEY, 31-years-old of Mississauga, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired, and drive motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is required to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on August 7, 2018 to answer to the charges.

Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is actively monitoring the "Big 4" driving behaviours; impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving, and seatbelt usage.
