Thomas COCHRANE - Drive While Suspended, Speeding, Vehicle Impounded

(CITY OF TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) - A member of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol conducting speed enforcement on July 18, 2018 at approximately 11:17 p.m.
Police observed a vehicle travelling northbound at a high rate of speed, on Highway 11 in Temiskaming Shores, Ontario. The vehicle was stopped and the driver is facing charges.
The 51-year-old driver, Thomas COCHRANE, of Swastika, Ontario is charged with:
Stunt Driving - Speeding by 50 or more kilometres per hour, contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA), and
Driving while under suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the HTA.
The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for 7 days. The driver was released by way of summons. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on October 11, 2018, in Haileybury, Ontario.
