(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) - On July 19, 2018 the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant at a Manitoba Street address with the assistance of Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Central Region Canine Unit.

During the execution of this warrant, two parties were arrested and charged. Police seized over $10,000 worth of controlled substances including cocaine, fentanyl, carfentanil, heroin, methadone, cannabis marihuana, and MDMA. Police also seized over $10,000 in currency and three prohibited weapons.

As a result of this investigation the following people have been charged:

Brandon BEGIN (27) of Bracebridge, Ontario

Four (4) counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking - S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Two (2) counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance - S. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 - S. 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Two (2) counts of Possession of a prohibited device - S. 92(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Possession of Imitation Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to Section 88 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Three (3) counts of Possession of Weapon contrary to Prohibition Order contrary to Section 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Four (4) counts of Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking - S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of a Schedule II substance for the purpose of Trafficking - S. 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Two (2) counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance - S. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 - S. 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Two (2) counts of Possession of a prohibited device - S. 92(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Possession of Imitation Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to Section 88 of the Criminal Code of Canada.


The two accused were held in custody for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on the July 20, 2018.
