Hwy 10 Collision Claims Life Of 6 Year Old

On Monday, August 6, 2018 at approximately 10:19 a.m., officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a collision on Highway 10 between Charleston Sideroad and Olde Base Line Road.

The collision involved a passenger vehicle travelling northbound and a tractor trailer travelling northbound. A 36 year-old man from within the passenger vehicle has been transported to a trauma centre by Ornge with serious injuries. Further, a 6 year-old female from within the passenger vehicle has succumbed to her injuries.

Southbound lanes have now re-opened on Highway 10 between Charleston Sideroad and Olde Base Line Road. However, northbound lanes continue to remain closed in this area for approximately the next 2 to 3 hours while Traffic Collision Investigators assist at the scene.
