Boat Operator Charged with Over 80

(Tweed, Ontario) - On August 4, 2018 at 2:40 p.m. Central Hastings OPP were conducting marine patrol on Stoco Lake, Tweed, Ontario. A driver of a pontoon boat was checked and as a result of the check, the OPP have charged 58 year old Brian VAN DYK of Tweed, Ontario, with Operate a Vessel with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood and failing to have an additional personal life-saving appliance on board Contrary to the Canada Shipping Act. Van Dyk received a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension. He will appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on September 27, 2018.
