(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY) At approximately 8:00 pm on Friday August 10, 2018 Prince Edward County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE at the intersection on County Road 12 and Ridge Road when officers observed a vehicle pull into a driveway and appeared to be turning to avoid the RIDE stop.

Officers located the vehicle attempting to turn around and spoke with the driver. The officer detected an odour of alcohol from the driver. A Roadside screening device was administered on which the driver registered a "fail". The driver was arrested and brought to the Prince Edward Detachment where she provided further samples of her breath into the Intoxilyzer which confirmed he had alcohol in her system in excess of the legal limit.

Fabio Garcia a 30 year old male from Montreal PQ has been charged criminally with Impaired Operation and Operate Over 80mgs. Garcia's license was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle he was driving has been impounded for 7 days.

Garcia was released on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on August 29, 2018
