Three Charged In Violent Home Invasion

(THUNDER BAY, ON) - On September 13, 2018, at approximately 7:37 a.m., officers from the Armstrong Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised of an assault that occurred on Whitesand First Nation.
Three females had attempted to steal items from within a residence and when confronted by the male home owner, the females assaulted the homeowner and damaged property within the residence. The male sustained minor injuries but did not require medical attention.
Dixie KWANDIBENS, 25 years of age, Genola KWANDIBENS, 23 years of age, and Shania SWAIN, 18 years of age, all from Whitesand First Nation were arrested and charged with the following offences:
Robbery with Violence contrary to section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC),
Mischief under $5000 contrary to section 430(4) CC,
Break, Enter a Dwelling House with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence contrary to section 348(1)(a) CC.
They are to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Armstrong on November 27, 2018 to answer to the charges.
