Hwy 89 Single Vehicle Collision Now A Double Fatality

(TOWSHIP OF ADJALA-TOSORONTIO) - On Saturday, September 15, 2018, at approximately 9:00 am, members of the Nottawasaga Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a single motor vehicle crash on Highway 89 at the intersection of County Road 13.
A vintage 1930 Ford motor vehicle, was travelling eastbound on Highway 89, towards County Road 13. At the intersection, the vehicle left the travelled portion of the road and struck a hydro pole. Both occupants of the vehicle, a male driver and female passenger were transported to hospital for treatment for serious injuries.
Central Region Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) arrived at the scene to assist.. Officers were also assisted at the scene by Adjala-Tosorontio Fire Services and County of Simcoe Paramedic Services.
Unfortunately, The 84 year old male driver, and his 81 year old wife and passenger have since succumbed to their injuries. They were residents of West Garafraxa Township, Wellington County.
The investigation is continuing to determine the cause of the crash.
