Fatal Collision Involving Motorcycle

(ESSEX, ON) On September 22, 2018 around 6:30 a.m., Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision on County Road 42 at Patillo Road in Lakeshore.

An eastbound motor vehicle was turning left onto Patillo Road when it collided with a westbound motorcycle.

As a result of the collision, the male driver of the motorcycle suffered life threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the deceased is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin.

OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) is currently on scene investigating the collision.

County Road 42 at Patillo Road will be closed for approximately six hours. Motorists will have to find alternative routes.

The investigation is continuing and charges are pending against the 23-year-old male driver of the motor vehicle.
