Break And Enter Suspect Arrested

(INGERSOLL, ON.) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Oxford Detachment responded to a break, enter and theft from a business property located on Thames Street South in Ingersoll.

The incident occurred shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018.

A witness observed a suspect on the property attempting to enter some storage bins which were located inside a locked compound on the business property.

OPP arrived on scene and located the male suspect and he was arrested without incident at the scene.

James WHITTAKER, 38-years-old of Ingersoll is charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
Break, Enter a place - Commit Indictable Offence
Possession Break In Instruments
Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing on October 2, 2018.



The OPP is asking residents to be vigilant in recognizing suspicious people or vehicles that are in your neighborhoods. It is important for this information to get to police when the suspects may still be in the area.
