Two Charged For Stealing Bikes From Goderich High School Bike Rack - Lief EDWARDS & 17 Year OldSource: Area OPP

(GODERICH, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have arrested and charged two males in connection with the theft of two high end bicycles that were stolen in Goderich this past September.
On September 5, 2018 Huron OPP members were contacted by two high school students that reported their bicycles were stolen from a bike rack located at the high school in Goderich.
Investigators were able to determine two suspects attended the school property just prior to dismissal whereupon they cut through the bicycle locks and stole the two bikes.
Investigators were able to positively identify the suspects and were ultimately able to arrest both suspects.
On September 14, 2018 Huron OPP arrested and charged a 17-year-old male from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh with two counts of theft. Additionally, upon a search incident to arrest he was also found to be in possession of cannabis marihuana. He has later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich, Youth Court on November 1, 2018.
On October 1, 2018 Huron OPP located and arrested the second suspect. Lief EDWARDS, 32 years of age from Goderich has been charged with two counts of Theft and two counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order. Additionally, upon arrest the accused was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. He is also facing an additional charge of Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine. He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for November 5, 2018 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
Both stolen bicycles have not yet been recovered. The stolen bikes are described as a black 21 speed, Louis Garneau, RC1 mountain bike valued at $700 and a 2017 black Norco Charger 9.3 mountain bike valued at just over $1,100.
