Fatal Collision On Wellington Road 44Source: Area OPP

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) - On October 6, 2018, at approximately 8:30 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious traffic collision involving two motor vehicles on Wellington Road 44, just south of Wellington Road 7, outside Rockwood.
Wellington County OPP along with Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Guelph-Eramosa Fire Department attended the scene. One of the passengers was pronounced dead at scene. Another passenger and the driver from the same vehicle were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The second driver was uninjured.
The cause of the collision is currently being investigated by OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) and Wellington Road 44 between Wellington Road 7 and Indian Trail will remain closed until further notice.
The deceased will not be identified until next of kin have been notified.
