Mobility Van Targeted By Criminal(s) In St. Marys

(ST. MARYS, ON) - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Perth County detachment are investigating an act of mischief involving a mobility van in the Town of St. Marys.

The damage occurred during the early morning hours of October 17, 2018 in the area of James Street, South.

The suspect entered the area and damaged the fuel tank of the van, causing a sizeable amount of fuel to leak on the ground beneath.

"In addition to the impact that of an out-of-service mobility vehicle has on residents in the community, this suspect also displayed an additional disregard for the environmental damage he/she has caused", says Provincial Constable Laura Brown, Community Safety/Media Relations Officer.

The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to report it immediately to police at 1-888-310-1122.
