Student Struck In Hit And Run

Owen Sound Police are looking to speak to the driver of a vehicle after a pedestrian was struck on the west side of Owen Sound Tuesday morning. Police were called to the area of 10 th street West and 7 th Avenue West after a vehicle struck a pedestrian using the crosswalk to cross 10 th Street West at approximately 10:40 a.m. The vehicle is described as a red SUV and was turning east bound from 7 th Avenue West onto 10 th Street West when it struck the 17 year old student. The driver stopped momentarily before continuing on her way. The youth received minor injuries that did not require medical attention. The driver, or anyone with information, is asked to contact Constable Lisa Smith with the Owen Sound Police Service at 519-376-1234 Ext 170.
