Driver Charged Under Cannabis Act

(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) - On Friday November 16, 2018 at approximately 9:40 p.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the female driver of a white passenger van that entered into R.I.D.E. spot check on Highway 6 at Laird Road west in the City of Guelph. While speaking with the female, officers detected the odour of marihuana and observed a container of dried marihuana in plain view, within reach of the driver.

31-year-old Lindsay TRITES of Puslinch Township was served a provincial offence notice for Drive Motor Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available contrary to the Cannabis Act 2017.
