Police Seek Witnesses Following Fatal Pedestrian Collision

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) - On November 21, 2018 at approximately 6:30 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a vehicle collision on Highway 8, just east of Stratford. It was reported that a pedestrian crossing the highway was struck by an east bound sedan.

OPP along with fire and paramedic services attended the scene. The pedestrian, a 77-year-old male, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. The male was then transported to a trauma centre where he was pronounced dead.

The deceased has been identified as 77-year-old Andrey GINOVKER of Stratford.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
