Man Arrested For Stealing Electronics From Dump - Name Released

(BLUEWATER, ON) - A 42-year-old from South Huron is facing a pair of charges following his arrest over the weekend at the South Huron landfill site.
At approximately 12:39 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on general patrol when the officer observed a vehicle in the laneway of the South Huron landfill site located on Ausable Line. Upon going in to check out the situation a person wearing a ski mask approached the officer.
Further investigation revealed the male had gained access into the landfill site and was in the process of stealing electronics from the recycling bins. Upon arresting the male he was also found to be in possession of break-in tools.
Gerald BIERLING, 42 years of age from South Huron has been charged with Break and Enter and Possession of Break-in Instruments. He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice on January 11, 2019.
