Winter storm warning in effect for:
Listowel - Milverton - Northern Perth County
Wingham - Blyth - Northern Huron County
Hazardous winter conditions are expected.
A winter storm with a combination of 10 to 20 cm snow, ice pellets and freezing rain is expected today into tonight.
Snow and local blowing snow will begin early this morning. Snow is expected to transition to ice pellets and then to freezing rain this afternoon. Freezing rain may persist for several hours before changing to rain or snow in the evening.
Additionally, strong easterly winds gusting up to 80 km/h are also expected this morning.
Total snowfall and ice pellet amounts of 10 to 20 cm are possible before ending Wednesday.
This weather is associated with a Colorado Low that will cross Southern Ontario tonight into Wednesday.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas.
