14 Year Old Injured In Wingham Hit And Run - Police Seek Public Assistance

(NORTH HURON, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking tips from the public to help solve a fail to remain crash that took place recently in downtown Wingham.
Shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 29, 2019 a 14-year-old boy from Wingham was cycling with three friends travelling northbound on Josephine Street when he was struck by a vehicle within the intersection of Josephine Street and Victoria Street.
A witness watched as the victim was knocked to the ground from his bicycle and the suspect vehicle immediately sped off travelling westbound on Victoria Street West.
The injured teen was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released with a non-life threatening injury.
Later that day police located the suspect vehicle at a residence located within the Town of Wingham. Upon further investigation the suspect vehicle was reported as stolen.
The suspect vehicle, in the attached pictured, is a 2016 grey 4-door Hyundai Sonata.
Investigators are attempting to identify the involved driver and passenger from this vehicle at the time of the collision. The suspects are described as follows:
Male Driver - White male, possibly in his 20's, long shaggy brown hair, scruffy facial hair and wearing a grey hoody and sunglasses.
Female Passenger- White female, possibly in her 20's with long brown hair and wearing sunglasses.
