Fatal Motorcycle Collision Update

(MAPLETON TOWNSHIP, ON) - On Saturday June 29, 2019 at approximately 3:40 p.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Guelph Wellington Paramedic Services and Mapleton Fire/Rescue responded to a fatal single motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on the 12th Line just south of Wellington Road 11.

Investigation reveals that the motorcycle was travelling northbound on the 12th Line when the driver left the roadway and struck the gravel shoulder before entering the east ditch and rolling over. The driver, Rod BOWMAN, 55-years-old of Mapleton Township, was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The Wellington County OPP are asking anyone that may have witnessed the collision to please call 1-888-310-1122.
