Officer Charged With Spousal Assault

(EAST ALGOMA, ON) - On July 24, 2019, an off-duty Sergeant was charged in relation to a domestic violence complaint.

As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old male was arrested and charged with three counts of Assault - Spousal, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC).

The officer is a 17-year member with the OPP and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River, on September 5, 2019.
