Body Recovered From Lake Erie

(LEAMINGTON, ON) - On September 22, 2019 at approximately 7:00 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the report of a body floating in the water near the beach in the 400 block of Erie Street South, Leamington.

The body was recovered and the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A post mortem investigation has been scheduled. The investigation is ongoing but has been deemed non suspicious.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
