(SOUTH HURON, ON) - A missing person investigation that commenced on September 23, 2019 by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) for 23-year-old Quintin SMITH of South Huron is now entering its second week.
As the circumstances surrounding the male's disappearance are considered suspicious, the investigation is being conducted by members of the Huron County OPP Major Crime Unit and OPP West Region Criminal Operations, under the direction of Detective Inspector Pete Liptrott of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
Quintin was last seen during the early morning hours of Saturday, September 21, 2019 at a gas bar at the north end of Exeter. He was seen carrying a gas can and wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black jogging pants, baseball cap and a backpack.
He's described as being a white male, about 5' 10", with blue eyes, weighing around 140 pounds, with a thin build & short, dirty blonde hair. (See attachments)
He was last residing in Exeter, however, he also has ties to Huron Park.
"Quintin's family and friends are quite concerned for his well-being and safety as it is very out of character for him to not have contact with any of them in over a week. At this point in time, foul play cannot be ruled out. As a result, we will be utilizing additional resources to assist in this investigation. If anyone has information that may be of benefit to investigators they are urged to call police with their information." - states Detective Inspector Pete Liptrott, OPP CIB.
