Break And Enters In Goderich

(GODERICH, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers continue with their investigation into two break, enter and theft of jewellery occurrences that have taken place in Goderich.
Both break & enters took place on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. The first one reported to police was a break, enter and theft of jewellery that took place at a residence located on Suncoast Drive West. Sometime between 10:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. the suspect forced entry into the residence through a rear door and once inside the home the thief ransacked the master bedroom and living room looking for valuables. A gold ring with an emerald stone was stolen along with a pair of rose coloured earrings. The estimated value of the stolen jewellery is about $210.
Also, on October 8, 2019 someone forced entry into a Waterloo Street North residence through a patio door. Once inside the home the thief ransacked the master bedroom and a bathroom. The thief made off with numerous pieces of women's jewellery including watches, earrings, bracelets, chains, lockets along with several items of silverware such as sterling teapots and silver spoons. The stolen goods are estimated to be worth around $10,000.
A witness observed a male person of interest enter into this residence around 12:00 p.m. He was described as being a white male, around 5' 10" to 6' tall, approximately 200 to 220 pounds with a "belly", with brownish/blonde hair. He was seen wearing a baseball cap that was white and orange in colour.
