Shoplifting Suspect Charged - WILCOX

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On October 17, 2019 a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was flagged down by a store employee of a business located on Tower Street in Fergus who advised that a theft had just occurred and the suspect was in a restaurant in the same plaza.
Officers located the suspect and following a brief investigation they were placed under arrest. The goods stolen totaled just over 50 dollars and were returned to the business.
Kirsten WILCOX, 37-years-old of Fergus has been charged with Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Code on November 13, 2019 to answer to the charge.
OPP would like to remind everyone to that we all lose when someone steals. Whether it's through increased service charges or prices, we all pay the price.
