21 Year Old Caught Going 2X Speed Limit

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On October 18, 2019, at approximately 9:30 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic and conducting radar on Highway 6 near Side Road 10. The officer observed a grey motor vehicle travelling southbound at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 160 km/h.

Gavin CARD-BARNETT, 21-years-old of Centre Wellington has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Offences Court on January 15, 2020. The driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
