Fatal Collision Near Lucan Closes Road

(LUCAN, ON) - The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a three vehicle collision on Elginfield Road west of Saintsbury Road around 1:00 p.m. on October 29, 2019.

At the time of the collision an eastbound minivan was turning left into a private drive. Another eastbound sedan struck the rear of the minivan, causing it to enter into the westbound lanes. A westbound commercial truck then collided with the minivan.

Middlesex-London paramedics and Air Orange paramedics attend the scene along with Lucan-Biddulph Fire department.

The driver of the commercial truck did not sustained any physical injuries. The driver of the sedan was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the minivan was transported to hospital by air and later died as a result of the collision.

The OPP's technical collision investigators are on scene to further this investigation.
