34 Year Old Caught Going 125 in an 80

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) - On December 22, 2019, at approximately 11:00 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 16 near Highway 89. The officer observed a black pick-up truck travelling above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 135 km/h.
As a result, Elliot Matthew KAVANAGH, 34-years-old of Dundalk, has been charged with Racing a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in Guelph at the Ontario Court of Justice - Provincial Offences Court on March 4, 2020. Their vehicle and driver's licence were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
