OPP Investigate After Second Home Destroyed by Fire in 12 Hours

(West Perth, ON) - The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a residential fire on March 23, 2020 shortly before 5:00 a.m. This was the second residential fire in a 12 hour time period in the Municipality of West Perth.

Police and fire crews were on scene at Perth Road 180, between Line 39 and Line 42, in the Municipality of West Perth.

The residence was unoccupied at the time, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal has been contacted.

Emergency crews had just responded to a previous residential fire the night before, March 22, at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Perth Road 164 in the Municipality of West Perth. At this time, police do not believe the two fires are related.
