Impaired Charge Following Collision - AUCOIN

(PERTH EAST, ON) - The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a person after a collision in the Township of Perth East.
Shortly after 7:00 p.m. on June 17 2020, Perth County OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Road 144 at Perth Line 55.
The investigation revealed that the vehicle had been travelling northbound on Road 144, when the driver lost control and entered the ditch. The vehicle then collided with a cement culvert. There were no injuries as a result of the collision.
The driver was also a G1 driver, and did not have an accompanying driver.
As a result, Amanda AUCOIN, 27, of Perth East has been charged with:
Operation while Impaired - Alcohol and Drugs
Operation while Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus
Class G1 Licence Holder - Unaccompanied by Qualified Driver
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford, at a later date, to answer to the charges. The vehicle involved was towed from the scene and a seven day impound was initiated as per statute. The accused's driver's licence was also suspended for 90 days.
