Throwing Golf Balls And Swinging Club At People And Cars Ends With Arrest Of BENOIT - Methamphetamine A Factor

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) - On July 5, 2020 at 8:39 p.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a disturbance on Main Street in Sauble Beach, ON.
A female was observed entering a local mini golf business in Sauble Beach, where she started pulling on some nearby shrubbery. Once on the property the female grabbed a bucket of golf balls and began throwing them around. The female then left the business with a golf club in hand and began swinging it around at cars and people as she walked down the road towards the beach.
Police received multiple complaints regarding this female.
With the assistance of by-law officers, police located and arrested the female on the beach area, near Lakeshore Boulevard.
As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Devyn BENOIT, a 28 year old from Ottawa, ON with causing a disturbance, section 175(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada and possession of a Schedule 1 substance, (Methamphetamine), section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
The accused was release on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on September 24, 2020.
