(SOUTH HURON, ON) - A driver from London has been charged with Racing following a traffic stop conducted by a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer earlier this week.
On Monday, November 23, 2020 at approximately 9:10 a.m. a Huron OPP officer observed a car travelling on London Road near Whalen Line at a high rate of speed. The officer utilized a RADAR device and measured the speed of the racing vehicle at a speed in excess of 50 km/h over the posted 80 km/h limit.
The investigating officer noted wet snow was falling and the roadway was slippery at the time of the traffic stop. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was charged.
Riyad SIMOQY, 22 years of age from London has been charge with Racing. He now has a court date scheduled for January 5, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich.
