Impaired Driving Arrest
On March 14th, 2024, at 8:20pm, police observed an adult male purchase alcohol from a business in a commercial plaza located near the intersection of Paisley Road and Imperial Road South in the City of Guelph. The male proceeded to enter the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle with the alcohol and sat in the vehicle for several minutes before departing the plaza, failing to signal as he entered the roadway.

Police initiated a traffic stop and the male ultimately failed a roadside breath test on an Approved Screening Device. He was subsequently arrested.

A 43-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
-Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus

His driver’s license was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

He will appear in court on March 26th.

The Guelph Police Service would like to encourage the public to always consume alcohol responsibly. Please don’t drive if you are going to consume alcohol, and please ensure that you plan ahead so that you have a safe ride home. Anyone who spots a suspected impaired driver is asked to immediately call 911.

Stolen GMC Sierra And Miska Trailer
On March 14th, 2024, just before 10:20am, a white 2018 GMC Sierra 3500HD with a white 20-foot enclosed Miska trailer was taken from a job site located near the intersection of Wyndham Street South and York Road in the City of Guelph.

The keys had been left in the vehicle.

Male Threatens Former Landlords
On March 11th, 2024, at 8pm, an adult male attended a residence where he formerly rented a basement apartment located near the intersection of Paisley Road and Hanlon Parkway in the City of Guelph.

He proceeded to walk around the property and then yell that he was going to burn the house to the ground, before leaving the area.

On March 14th, at 10:52am, police located the male walking in the downtown core, and he was subsequently arrested.

A 39-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:
-Uttering Threats
-Breach Probation

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on March 15th.Total calls for service in the last 24 hours – 197
