Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 156 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Eight person was arrested and four on an outstanding warrant.

Man Arrested for Assault with a Weapon CK24016481

At 11:14 a.m., police responded to Taylor Avenue in Chatham for an assault investigation.

Upon arrival officers learned on April 13, 2024, a verbal argument occurred between the man and the woman. The argument escalated when the man struck the woman with a beverage bottle, causing minor physical injury.

On April 14, 2024, the incident was reported, and the man was arrested.

The 42-year-old Chatham Kent man was charged with assault with a weapon. He was transported to police headquarters where he was released with conditions and a future court date of May 27, 2024.

Man Arrested for Breaching a Conditional Sentence Order CK24016500

On November 23, 2023, the man was placed on a Conditional Sentence Order with a condition not to buy, possess or consume alcohol or other intoxicating substances.

On April 14, 2024, at 12:30 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle collision on Talbot Street West in Blenheim. Upon arrival, officers learned the man had struck a parked vehicle with his ATV. Officers also detected alcohol on the man’s breath.

The 41-year-old Harwich Township man was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle without insurance, drive a motor vehicle without a license plate, two counts of driving while suspended, and four counts of operating a motor vehicle while prohibited. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.

Man Arrested for Impaired Driving CK24016534

At 5:47 p.m., police responded to Lacroix Street in Chatham for a traffic complaint.

Upon arrival officers located the vehicle and believed the man was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters for tests.

The 38-year-old Chatham man was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. He was released with conditions and a future court date of April 29, 2024.

Man Arrested on Outstanding Warrants CK24016546

At 6:52 p.m., police responded to a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham for a theft investigation. The man fled on foot and was located on Sheldon Avenue, where he was arrested.

Officers confirmed the man was wanted on several warrants related to other theft investigations.

The 41-year-old Leamington man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of May 27, 2024. He is currently facing the following charges: assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, three counts of mischief, five counts of theft, and five counts of possession of stolen property.

Woman Arrested for Fraud CK24016547

At 6:58 p.m., the woman attended Chatham-Kent Police station in Tilbury and turned herself in to the police.

The woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant in relation to a September 2023 fraud investigation.

The 49-year-old Tilbury woman was charged with possession of stolen property and fraud. She was released with conditions and a future court date of May 27, 2024.

Woman Arrested for Impaired Driving CK24016550

At 7:06 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of McNaughton Avenue East and Taylor Avenue in Chatham.

Officers believed the woman driving was under the influence of alcohol and arrested her. She was transported to police headquarters for tests.

The 58-year-old Chatham woman was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit. She was released with conditions and a future court date of April 29, 2024.

Two Men Arrested for Criminal Harassment CK24016557, CK24016558

At 7:34 p.m., two men attended police headquarters and turned themselves in to the police.

Both men were wanted on an outstanding warrant for an April 14, 2024, criminal harassment/road rage investigation in Wallaceburg.

The two 19-year-old Camden Township men were charged with careless driving and criminal harassment. They were released with conditions and a future court date of May 27, 2024, and May 29, 2024.
