The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a man sustained a serious facial injury Monday morning.

Just after 9 a.m. police received several 911 calls about an injured male near the intersection of Waterloo Avenue and Edinburgh Road South. Officers located an adult male with a significant laceration to his nose and lip. The male refused to provide information, claiming he had fallen.

Officers followed a blood trail and discovered a broken glass bottle with blood on it. The male was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries.

$3,500 in cosmetics stolen
The Guelph Police Service is investigating after more than $3,500 worth of cosmetics were stolen.

Last Friday, approximately 8:15 p.m., a male and female entered a business on Stone Road West near Edinburgh Road South. Both placed cosmetic products in a large black bag and quickly left the store.

The female was described as having a medium build, olive skin and long black hair. She was wearing a dark blue jean jacket, white shirt, black pants and white running shoes and carrying a large black bag. The male also had olive skin, black hair in a receding hairline, a black beard and mustache and was wearing a white t-shirt with black LA logo, beige pants, white running shoes and clear-rimmed glasses. They were believed to be driving a grey SUV.

Police investigating assault at south-end business
The Guelph Police Service is looking for the public’s assistance as it investigates an assault earlier this month at a south-end business.assault suspect

Shortly before 1 a.m. April 14, police received a report of an assault outside a business near Gordon Street and Clair Road East. An adult male reported he attended another business a few hours earlier and spent time talking to and sharing drinks with a couple unknown to him.

The three then went to another nearby restaurant where they continued to drink before all leaving at the same time. Outside, the victim remarked to the other male that he had been rude to some of the staff, prompting the other male to punch him in the face.

The suspect was described as white with a short, stocky build, large dark beard, dark hair and wearing a dark shirt. He and the female were last seen leaving in a white Ford F-150, travelling east on Clair Road East. Police would like to speak to the male in the attached photo.
