(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) An individual has been charged following an investigation into an incident involving Delhi District Secondary School.
At approximately 12:09 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated an incident involving Delhi District Secondary School on James Street in Delhi, Norfolk County.
It was determined that a short time earlier, a group of individuals had a conversation using electronic means, during which one of them threatened to cause harm to the school and individuals within the school community.
With assistance from the Niagara Regional Police Service, the individual of interest was located at an address in Welland, Ontario, and was taken into custody without incident.
Charged with the following alleged offence is 18-year-old Jakob JORDAN of Norfolk County:
Uttering threats cause death or bodily harm.
The accused was detained in custody and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe.
At this time, there is believed to be no threat to public safety.
