(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) An individual has been charged with several offences following an investigation into an incident involving mischief and threats.
Around 12:59 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to and investigated a 9-1-1 call from a concerned citizen about an individual actively damaging the exterior of a residential building on Highway 3 in Simcoe, Norfolk County.
Responding officers located the individual on the property and took them into custody. It was also discovered that the individual had made repeated threats against other individuals living in the area.
Charged with the following alleged offences is 34-year-old Nickolas VANOOSTVEEN of Norfolk County:
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,
Resist Peace Officer,
Criminal harassment threatening conduct (two counts),
Mischief under $5,000.
The accused was detained in custody and is scheduled to appear at a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe.
