(BURKS FALLS, ON) The Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) lay multiple charges after an assault investigation.
On April 21, 2024, members of the Almaguin Highlands OPP responded to a report of an assault. The victim reported being assaulted and held against their will prior to reporting the incident to police.
As a result of the investigation, Matthew FISHER, 35-years-old from Burks Falls Ontario was arrested and charged with:
Forcible Confinement
Assault
Assault with a Weapon
Assault Causing Bodily Harm
Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm 2 counts
Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order 2 counts
The accused was held for bail and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 26, 2024.
