(BANCROFT, ON) Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver while conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) program.

On April 27, 2024, shortly after 12:30 a.m., officers stop a vehicle while conducting a R.I.D.E. in the town of Bancroft. The investigation resulted in the driver being arrested.

Mitchell LYONS, a 33-year-old from Campbellford has been charged with the Criminal Code offences of:

Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code

Operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Operation while impaired alcohol

Fail to comply with probation order.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on May 14, 2024.
