OPP Make Arrested On Unceded Land

(WIKWEMIKONG UNCEDED TERRITORY, ON) � Four people have been arrested and charged with drug and weapons related offences after a search warrant was executed in Wikwemikong Unceded Territory.
On April 17, 2024, shortly after 5:00 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the assistance of the North East Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), North East Region Canine Unit, Wikwemikong Tribal Police Service (WTPS), and the United Chiefs and Councils of Manitoulin Anishnaabe Police (UCCM Police) executed a search warrant at a residence on Kaboni Road.
Police arrested four people at the residence and located over 35 grams of suspected fentanyl, over 3 grams of suspected cocaine, and over 3 grams of suspected crack cocaine. Police also located firearms, ammunition, and over $12,000 in Canadian currency.
As a result of the investigation, Ross JACKO, 39-years-old from Sudbury has been charged with:
Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking � three counts
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Unauthorized possession of a weapon
Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
Breach of firearms regulation � store firearm or restricted weapon
Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order � ten counts
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay Bail Court on April 19, 2024.
Brooke MANITOWABI, 26-years-old from Wikwemikong Unceded Territory has been charged with:
Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking � three counts
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Unauthorized possession of a weapon
Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
Breach of firearms regulation � store firearm or restricted weapon
Possession of prohibited device or ammunition
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Wikwemikong Unceded Territory on May 28, 2024.
Dominos MANITOWABI, 41-years-old from Wikwemikong Unceded Territory has been charged with:
Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking � three counts
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Unauthorized possession of a weapon
Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
Breach of firearms regulation � store firearm or restricted weapon
Possession of prohibited device or ammunition

Jamie-Lynn PITAWANAKWAT, 29-years-old from Wikwemikong Unceded Territory has been charged with:
