Fatal Collision Name Of Deceased Released

(COLLINGWOOD, ON) Officers from the Collingwood Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a serious collision on Grey Road 19 south of the 6th Line in the Town of The Blue Mountains.
On April 26, 2024, at approximately 10:22 p.m., officers and emergency crews responded to a single vehicle collision. The vehicle was located in a ditch with a solo occupant. The driver was pronounced deceased at scene.
The victim has been identified as Aven Akerman, 20 years of age, of Midland.
The investigation is ongoing. The Collingwood Detachment is requesting that if anyone witnessed the incident, has video surveillance or dash cam footage that may assist investigators, to please call OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
