(MUNICIPALITY OF BRIGHTON, ON) � One individual has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place and causing mischief while later in custody.
On April 25, 2024, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a disturbance on Dundas Street in the Municipality of Brighton. Further reports were received pertaining to the same person at a commercial premises off Prince Edward Street.
Police shortly located the accused causing a further disturbance to passing motorists before being arrested and transported to a nearby detachment where mischief was caused to government property inside.
Abdul RAKEEB, 31-years-old, from Brighton has been charged with:
Being intoxicated in a public place
Mischief � obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property.
The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
