34 Year Old Arrested In Walkerton

(WALKERTON, ON) � On May 19, 2024, at 2:09 a.m., South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer arrested a driver while conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) at a checkpoint on Durham Street in Walkerton.
The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.
Jonathan STRAUSS, 34-years-old, from the Municipality of Brockton was charged with:
Operation while impaired � blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The driver will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date. An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver�s licence suspension and immediate vehicle impoundment for seven days.
