(LAURENTIAN HILLS, ON) � The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in connection with stolen vehicle occurrences in Laurentian Hills.
On August 4, 2024, at approximately 7:45 a.m., officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Forestry Road involving a pickup truck that left the roadway, crashed, and was on fire. The driver did not remain at the scene. It was discovered the vehicle had been stolen the previous night from a residence in Laurentian Hills.
Also on August 4, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., police were called to an address in Laurentian Hills for a theft of a pickup truck in progress which was interrupted by the vehicle owner. The accused fled the area on an ATV which was later determined to have been stolen from a residence in Laurentian Hills. The ATV was later recovered.
On August 6, 2024, police arrested and charged 44-year-old Terrence NICHOLSON of Laurentian Hills with the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:
� Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
� Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 � two counts
The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on August 12, 2024.
