(WHITBY, ON) � Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Highway Safety Division (HSD) � Toronto Detachment, Whitby office investigated a single-vehicle rollover collision that resulted in one fatality and two people going to hospital.



On August 30, 2024, at 2:55 a.m, OPP officers responded to a single vehicle rollover collision on the off ramp from Highway 401 eastbound to Brock Street in Whitby.



As a result of the collision, the driver, a 23-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene. In addition, a 23-year-old male passenger and 20-year-old female passenger were transported to hospital, both in non-life threatening condition.

The OPP-HSD Traffic Support Unit assisted with the investigation. The on ramp from Brock Street to Highway 401 eastbound was closed for approximately 6.5 hours for the investigation. The off ramp from Highway 401 eastbound to Brock Street will remain closed until road sign repairs are completed by the Ministry of Transportation.
