(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON) � Officers from the Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one individual for drug trafficking offences in the Municipality, thanks to ongoing investigations being conducted by the Sioux Lookout OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).
On Monday, September 23rd, 2024, at approximately 9:30 pm, officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 72 after forming grounds to believe the vehicle contained illicit substances for trafficking. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking, and police investigation resulted in the seizure of suspected illicit substances including over 1.3 kg of cocaine and unmarked cigarettes.
Following investigation, William GIRARD, 57 years old, from Worthington Ontario, has been arrested and charged with the following offences:
� Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking,
� Drive Motor Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available, and
� Possess Unmarked Cigarettes.
The accused was remanded into custody and will next appear in front of the Ontario Court of Justice Kenora Bail Court, on September 25, 2024.
